1934_Martin_0-17.JPG
1934 Martin 0-173915 viewsMy first guitar. Dad bought it from a co-worker for $10. The gentlemen bought it for $35 including a year's lessons during the Great Depression. We had the guitar appraised and told him that it was worth a lot more, but he wanted me to enjoy it and wouldn't accept more. Unbelievable tone and projection from this guitar!

1952 Fender Telecaster Blackguard2311 viewsEverything a blackguard Tele should be - playability, snap, and twang! Complete with thermometer case.
1952_Gibson_Les_Paul_Model_Goldtop.JPG
1952 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop2651 viewsOriginal flatwounds were still on this guitar when I got it. My guess is that it was in someone's attic for many years. The initial "B" is affixed to the top. I didn't want to attempt to remove it and damage the finish. Plus, it is the first initial of my wife's name, so it works!
1953_Gibson_Les_Paul_Model_Goldtop.JPG
1953 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop1945 viewsWho said you can't play these trapeze tailpiece models? Obviously, no one told the original owner, because this baby has some mileage on it!
1954_Gibson_Les_Paul_Model_Goldtop.JPG
1954 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop2083 viewsAged to a golden brown. When blacklighting it I detected that the original owner must have had his initials on the upper bout of the guitar at one time (those stick on letters).
1955_Gibson_Les_Paul_Model_Goldtop.JPG
1955 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop1897 viewsPurchased from Dave Rogers. Nice big neck. Plays and sounds great! Stoptails are awesome!
1956_Gibson_ES-140_T.JPG
1956 Gibson ES-140 T1676 viewsA funky little guitar that is fun to play, if you can re-train your hands for the small neck! This one is in mint condition.
1956_Gibson_Les_Paul_Model_Goldtop.JPG
1956 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop2188 viewsThe greening isn't as apparent when seeing the guitar in person, but it is fairly prominent when photographing the guitar!
1957_Gibson_ES-225_TN.JPG
1957 Gibson ES-225 TN1409 viewsI'm partial to blondes! ES-225s are often overlooked guitars, and I don't know why - they sound absolutely huge!
1957_Gibson_Les_Paul_Custom.JPG
1957 Gibson Les Paul Custom2766 viewsI love the sound of the Alnico neck pickup! This guitar is very playable, even with the low frets.
1957_Gibson_Les_Paul_Special_TV_Single_Cutaway.JPG
1957 Gibson Les Paul Special TV Single Cutaway1848 viewsClose to mint condition. Sounds and plays great.
1957_Gibson_Les_Paul_Standard_Goldtop.JPG
1957 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop2310 viewsThis guitar rocks! I have a photo of the original owner playing it in his band in the late 50's.
1957_Gibson_Les_Paul_Standard_Goldtop_All_Mahogany.jpg
1957 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop All Mahogany Body63 viewsA rare bird - not many all mahogany Les Pauls made in this timeframe. Plays and sounds great! Heavy as a boat anchor though at 10 lbs.!
1958_Fender_Telecaster_Blonde.JPG
1958 Fender Telecaster2093 viewsAnother Tele tone monster, this time with the classic white pickguard! Another time machine that's a pickin' and a grinnin'!
1958_Gibson_ES-225_TDN.JPG
1958 Gibson ES-225 TDN1529 viewsAnother wonderful ES-225, this one with two pickups. These are pretty rare in blonde!
1958_Gibson_ES-335_TD.JPG
1958 Gibson ES-335 TD1727 viewsNIce big neck on this one. Probably my favorite "go to" ES-335.
1958_Gibson_ES-5_Switchmaster.JPG
1958 Gibson ES-5 Switchmaster1566 viewsYou can never have enough PAFs in one guitar! Also purchased from Dave Rogers.
1958_Gibson_Les_Paul_Custom.JPG
1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom2607 viewsI turned the middle pickup. Seems to help thicken up the "out of phase" sound when the middle position on the selector switch is selected (middle and bridge pickup). Don't ask me why it works - it just does!
