1934 Martin 0-173830 viewsMy first guitar. Dad bought it from a co-worker for $10. The gentlemen bought it for $35 including a year's lessons during the Great Depression. We had the guitar appraised and told him that it was worth a lot more, but he wanted me to enjoy it and wouldn't accept more. Unbelievable tone and projection from this guitar!
1952 Fender Telecaster Blackguard2228 viewsEverything a blackguard Tele should be - playability, snap, and twang! Complete with thermometer case.
1952 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop2601 viewsOriginal flatwounds were still on this guitar when I got it. My guess is that it was in someone's attic for many years. The initial "B" is affixed to the top. I didn't want to attempt to remove it and damage the finish. Plus, it is the first initial of my wife's name, so it works!
1953 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop1897 viewsWho said you can't play these trapeze tailpiece models? Obviously, no one told the original owner, because this baby has some mileage on it!
1954 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop2035 viewsAged to a golden brown. When blacklighting it I detected that the original owner must have had his initials on the upper bout of the guitar at one time (those stick on letters).
1955 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop1856 viewsPurchased from Dave Rogers. Nice big neck. Plays and sounds great! Stoptails are awesome!
1956 Gibson ES-140 T1636 viewsA funky little guitar that is fun to play, if you can re-train your hands for the small neck! This one is in mint condition.
1956 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop2152 viewsThe greening isn't as apparent when seeing the guitar in person, but it is fairly prominent when photographing the guitar!
1957 Gibson ES-225 TN1374 viewsI'm partial to blondes! ES-225s are often overlooked guitars, and I don't know why - they sound absolutely huge!
1957 Gibson Les Paul Custom2720 viewsI love the sound of the Alnico neck pickup! This guitar is very playable, even with the low frets.
1957 Gibson Les Paul Special TV Single Cutaway1810 viewsClose to mint condition. Sounds and plays great.
1957 Gibson Les Paul Model Goldtop2267 viewsThis guitar rocks! I have a photo of the original owner playing it in his band in the late 50's.
1958 Fender Telecaster2049 viewsAnother Tele tone monster, this time with the classic white pickguard! Another time machine that's a pickin' and a grinnin'!
1958 Gibson ES-225 TDN1493 viewsAnother wonderful ES-225, this one with two pickups. These are pretty rare in blonde!
1958 Gibson ES-335 TD1685 viewsNIce big neck on this one. Probably my favorite "go to" ES-335.
1958 Gibson ES-5 Switchmaster1524 viewsYou can never have enough PAFs in one guitar! Also purchased from Dave Rogers.
1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom2563 viewsI turned the middle pickup. Seems to help thicken up the "out of phase" sound when the middle position on the selector switch is selected (middle and bridge pickup). Don't ask me why it works - it just does!
1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Burst5078 viewsFirst of three years of the "holy grail" of Les Pauls. This baby has been played, as evidenced by neck wear and back wear. Perfect Teaburst color! Plays and sounds great!
